UNLV economists emphasized the significance of the development for the region's long-term growth. "There's a lot of land available for residential as well, so it's an area that was primed for growth, and post-COVID, it's taken off," said Nicolas Irwin, associate professor of economics at UNLV.

Experts suggest that the abundance of land, combined with strong local residential growth and a favorable economic environment, has positioned the Southwest Valley as a desirable location for retail activity. The recent addition of Costco shows the level of confidence that major companies seem to be placing in the future of the region, while providing more reasons for residents to celebrate the great things taking place in the Valley.
